Title: Anybody have experience with Mud King tires..see pic.
Post by: lowrezolution on May 01, 2006, 05:38:40 PM
Has anybody owned or seen a set of these tires. ??? The good thing is they're radials for good street use and look pretty agressive for wheelin'!
They are Mud King 32 x 11.5 x 15's an ebay seller has them for a $109.00 each and $21.50 shipping each. Puts a set at about $525.00 usd. I've done a little snooping and found out these are made by BFG. Just curious as I can't decide on tires for the Tracker. ???

I'm second guessing the TSL LTB's as I hear they flat spot overnight and I do a fair amount of daily driving.

I ran 235/85R16 Mud Kings on my Tracker and they worked awesome both on and off road. They are like a tame swamper offroad with really good road manners. I would recommend them

I had a set of them in 31x10.5R15 under my Ranger.  I had Discount Tire sipe them and man, they were GREAT.  Onroad and off they were some of the best tires I've ever had.  I only had mine for 8k before I went bigger but a friend had a set go 44k under her Z71.
That's a good price.  They're made by the same company that owns Michelin and BFG.  Note that they are a completely seperate tire, not a rebadged/rebranded/same carcass/etc tire like some people will tell you.

Man, I bet you'll notice the power loss when you go to those 32's.

The LTB's are bias plies so they will flat spot and will never ride as nice or last as long as a radial.  It sounds like these Mud Kings would be a much better choice for your needs.

Oooh, nice.  I'd like some rims like that for my Tracker but Cragar doesn't make them in the backspacing I want. :-[

What brand tires are those?  I ran a similar set of a Cooper offbrand on my '99 Ram for a while.  Nice tires, I liked them. :)

AJMBLAZER, They are a Cooper offbrand called Durango Mud Grip.
I bought them from an ebay store, $454.oo for the set of four freight in. Should see them by early next week. As for the Cragars, 3 3/4" back spacing is O-K, but not ideal. I have to add 1/4" spacers because where the eight holes are in the rim the material actually flares inward and just grazes the brake caliper, too lazy to grind 'em, wheel spacers were $22.00 off ebay! ;D
Over-all not a bad deal, tires $454 and rims (WD direct (((  ;) ssshhhhh!!! :-X ))) at $31.50 each or $126 set for a grand total of $580 isn't too shabby, will be stylin' and profilin' in no time! ;D  Will post pics when I get them bolted on! :)
