Hey all, I own a 1993 Geo/sidekick its a little of both. I just rebuilt the motor Idrove it for about 10 miles and now i keep blowing the rubber ring off the oil filter????? somebody told me it might be the oil pump is blocked because the preasure out of the pump goes right thru the filter????????????? Please help spring is coming

sounds like the pressure relief valve
is stuck closed, the pressure would get
too high and could blow the oil filter
can right off the base.
Did you make sure the threaded nipple
on the block is all the way in ?
Is this the same block or a replacement?
What weight oil are you using ?
Is the engine warm/hot and still blowing
the ring ?
Put a pressure guage on it and get a reading,
this might help eliminate a lot of guessing,
should be around 40 at idle and up to 60-70
running speed (warm), these #s are aprox
normal PSI figures, actual PSI could be more
or less for Suzuki engines, but close to these
should be fine.
