sorry about not posting pics earlier.

but here are the tube bars i will be getting shortly.

BTW, Mark has redone the rear end of his chassis, so its a lot stronger to snatch out the full size rigs!

he has redone all the mountings for the bars to make them a lot stronger, and he will be helping me mod mine. hopefully.

enjoy.

the recovery points are hard core. done properly, and welded solid to the chassis. i dont think they will ever come off in any situation with out pulling apart the chassis.

they are eyelets, or loops, or what ever you want to call them, they are not open ones.

i will ask mark for permission to post more pics of his rear section cross member build.

Hey Steve,

Very  nice Tube work, Betcha can't wait to get  them on  ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong but those recovery points are called eye bolts and just check them before you go and use them because they are normally not load rated for F all !! From memory a 16mm eye bolt has something like a rating of about 2.5 tons.

They are designed to be screwed into heavy electric motors and the likes for lifting and not for the extreme forces produced when recovering a 4WD.

I just wanted to point this out as I don't wanna see ya come back here and say you or one of ya mates was taken out by a flying shackle ! (I just watched the '96 Silverstone Malaysia Challenge last night and saw what a flying cable and shackle done, VERY NASTY STUFF)

thanks shane. i already know about the load ratings for those eye bolts.

i dont think i will be using them, as Mark modified the front and rear chassis to be able tomount them on good enough. he cut the whole rear section off his chassis including body mounts, and then welded on another rear cross section, and also did his tank lift.

i myself will not get too heavy into this. the furthest i may take it is for a tank lift, and then work around the tube bars to make some descent recovery points.

but you gotta admit, thos eye bolts look sweet, esp when you have huge D shackles hanging off them.
