'02 XL-7 Eng cutout, noise from eng

Hello All,
 New to the group and I have  a question.  I have a '02 XL-7 with 60,000 miles.  Sometimes when I am doing about 40 mph steady speed the eng seems to cut out and come back.  No CEL.  Not sure what it could be.  
 Also when the eng is cold on acceleration at around 2000 rpm i hear like a rattle/ringing noise from the eng compartment.  I have seen the post about the OEM oil filters and tried that but the noise is still there.  Any ideas?

You might want to check with this board,they have a few Suzuki Techs on their board that deal in XL7's.

Betcha its the timing chain tensioners. :-[
