My '93 (LHD) rode OEM-harsh before I replaced the springs with OME's and the shocks with soft Monroes (from Petroworks). The new leaf springs provided a small lift (~1.5") plus 3/4" HD shackles (+3/8" lift). I eventually installed 235/75R15's after my 215's aged out. Although the truck sits a bit higher now, the ride is a lot better for my old, aching back. It will never be "posh". The additional spring travel really helps smooth out the ride. I did have to clearance the left front bumper by about 1/4" to clear the new larger tires. The 235's do fit inside the fender flares and I keep the tire pressures low (~20PSI) to help with ride comfort. At 163K miles, I recently replaced the wheel bearings all-'round. The rears were pretty loose/worn (probably should have done that sooner). [This may be way more than you want to do, but that's how it worked for me.]
