LOL, a video, eh, 8mm OK?
THANX for the
Joke of the Morning. I should come around more than biannually.
4xoddic claim to fameI bought the LAST fibreglass Samurai hardtop made by Guidon Truck Toppers, Paola, KS, (just down the pike from Ack, actually), IN THE LAST CENTURY.
It was a custom-order, as it had been some time (previous ownership) since that factory had put out a Samurai top. New owner called out for who knew how to install it when we showed up in our 91 Samurai. Of the 3 guys who installed it, I would guess at least one had seen one installed before. LOL
I was given a bad copy of of a copy of their install instructions. I only found them by Googlin' long & hard. Their only web presence was pdfs of PHOTOS of 2 color brochures & POC (nothing for a Google of
Samurai to find).
Last I saw, they'd locked the gate; EPA & KS DHE was dealing with toxic wastes local Industrial Development entity was stuck with. Google:
GUIDON TRUCK COVERS RR 5 #-38 PAOLA, KS 66071-9805 913-294-4466
They also had one Samurai with their cab/fastback topper, DOA. Ever see that light blue <88.5 Sammy it was on, Ack?
Believe there are a couple of fibreglass Samurai top makers still in existence this century. . . .
Believe Guidon was a franchise, seems like there was also a factory in Chanute, but I had to explain what a Samurai was when they answered the phone, ~ 2000. A local fibreglass topper factory might have historical archives.
