Which Winch to Buy Problem Solved (pics)
« on: February 03, 2009, 04:07:48 PM »
Well i Decided to get the Warn 8000i for my Tracker.
Not becuase it was Light weight but because i got this one that was used by and older fellow to pull the odd log outa the Bush. Its never pulled a Truck before.
He bought it brand new.
It works like new came with a Trailer hitch type Mounting plate for the 2x2 inch square tubeing. Has Welding Cables so you can mount it front or Rear there 18 Ft of Cables with it. the Hitch plate and the Joy stick thing. I got this all for $300 Cash Canadian Funds about $225 USA

The superwinch at the Car parts place Canadian Tire woulda been $399 can funds + 13 % taxes

Im gona buy that Blue Amsteel rope to lighten it up tho its not that heavy a winch Well the hitch mounting plate makes it alot Heavyer than i need it to be.
This winch would fit in one of them nice Bush bars eh?

OK now which Bush bumper to Buy  ???  I like the Calmini one.

Hope that coil spring lift in the front will be enough for all the weight.

Somehow i think im gona need more lift now and end up with a Calmini 3 inch lift kit or the OME lift.

Maby the coil spring spacer will be enough tho any ideas ?

You should take a look at the Zuk's Off Road (ZOR) front bumper.  They are still on sale and you really can't beat the current pricing.

I put my winch bumper on and winch using just my 1.5" spacers. I did not notice any difference. If you need more you can bump up to a 2" coil spacer in front. Go with the rope instead of cable, huge weight savings. Contact lowrange offroad, he can get the rope pretty cheap.

Hey Thanks Jeff thats what i wanted to Hear.
Good stuff. I love the look of them Bumbers but have been worried about all that weight.
Getting a good steel back bumper might be a plan to Balance it all out.
Anyway i love the Winch!  :)
