1.6 motor id??? how can I tell if it is a 1.6
« on: December 13, 2009, 06:28:18 PM »
I am new to the zuki thing. I recently bought a 88.5. The seller told me that the previous owner rebuilt a 1.6 motor and swapped it into the zuk. It has a Weber carb also. I would like to do a power steering mod but need to know if it really is a 1.6 or 1.3. Is there any obvious markings that I am not seeing that will help me know the true motor type? The reason for the ps mod is that I have locked up the front end. Next question which way do I go with the ps mod - kicker or toyota? I am running 31" tires both in the sand and on rocks.
thanks for any help ???

Drivers side back of the block, right next to the bell housing has a CC marking on it. For a 1.3 it will either be 1298 or 1324. I think the 1.6's are 1590.

If you have a 1.6 in there a kicker conversion is going to be the easiest.  All you need is a new front pully and the rest should bolt up.  You just need to find a wrecked tracker in a junk yard to pull the hardware off of.
