2000 Tracker Day Time Running Lights
« on: April 12, 2007, 10:16:52 PM »
Is there anyway to turn these off?  If not, is there a way to make a switch to turn them off and on?

Thanks

This is a good topic, thanks. I forgot that I was having the same issue. I was thinking about finding the wires to the lights, cutting them and running another wire with a switch into the cabin, but that seems like too much of a hassle. Any other ideas would be fantastic.

I have not checked the fuse box.  I would be suprised if they had a fuse that only operates the daytime running light feature.  I'll take a look.  I hate the fact the head lights are on all the time.  They will not last long.

I always found it personally dumb for day time driving lights they dont make a difference during the day at all lol the only advantage it may have is when it starts to get dark you dont have to worry about turning them on or when you shut your car off you cant forget because it does it automatically. I have never heard of anyone wanting to turn them off so I bet there is a fuse though.

For Vitara/tracker and GV 99 and up, go to the right forum...

http://www.zukiworld.com/forum/index.php?board=10.0

And make a search...

But it's easy as lift the plug a the right of the dash and unplug the sensor...

I did this on my 2002 GV.

A few typo errors in this statement.... I did disconnect the sensor on the dash and it did not stop the lights from coming on.

On my '96 I can wire a switch in series with the kill switch on the emergency brake.  When the switch is off, the lights are off.  When the switch is on, the DRLs work normally with the e-brake feature retained.
