What is everyones thought on wheel spacers? I would like my tires to stick out a little more and was wondering if anyone had any and if they liked them or not.

I'VE HAD THEM ON FOR 2 YEARS NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. MADE IT FEEL BETTER ON THE SIDE HILLS.

Got some 1" Spidertrax spacers at the Melt this past year and love them!  I've noticed an improvement on the road as well as off.

I have 3 cm ( so just over 1" ) spacers. They are not allowed overhere, but these are from Germany and have the "TÃœV" approvement , so they must be good. TÃœV is about the heaviest inspection a part can get. Nice wide stance with the 33" s on 15x8 rims !

I ran 35mm spacers with 215s with no problems for about 12,000 miles. There have been two instances over here quite recently where Zuks with spacers have had wheels come off due to broken studs. When I did my rear disc conversion I found that the studs are quite soft and will strtch if overtightened. I would recommend using a torque wrench to tighten the wheel nuts. The spacers transformed the handling on mine. It was like having the sway bar attached again.

Do you recommend changing the studs? Most of the auctions on ebay suggest that you do.

Why not run a less backspaced wheel

I had problems with replacing the rear studs on mine. The drums are also quite soft metal and after knocking out the studs the spline was too loose for the new ones. We ended up drilling out the holes to fit some with a larger diameter shoulder. I don't know about the prices of spacers in the US but in the UK you can but new rims for the price of the better quality spacers. That would be my prefered option but I bought the spacers for my 410 which already has 10x15 alloy rims on it, you can't get the back spacing with alloys.
