Broken ball joint
« on: November 09, 2004, 11:58:49 AM »
I went out wheeling this weekend and hit some killer jumps, but later that night climbing a hill the lower balljoint broke on the passenger side. This left me with my wheel and hub assembly under my rig. If you do some jumping be sure to take a look at them when your done. My balljoint was bent and it basically the ball came out of the socket.

The cool thing was a friend of mine has a railbuggy with an air bag suspension. He backed up to me and lowered his buggie and I tied to his frame. When he aired up we drove on out!!

Ya, the lower balljoint will not
take much twisting and it will
pop apart, I had a strut nut come
off while I was driving down the
freeway, the strut popped out of
the upper rubber mount, steering
went really squirrely, I barley touched
the brake and the strut, wheel, brake
rotors, caliper and front half shaft ripped
off of the trucklet, now I'm going down
the freeway doing 65 MPH sliding on the
A-arm, no brakes and sparks going everywhere
:o

I got my excitement that night
