If I could I'd run a header and pipe out the end! Oh well, I guess I'll see how much $$$$ the little lady is going to let me spend on the exhaust. Not really sure if she is going to let me have the funds for the header and the new exhaust though!

Just a note

2 1/4" works well on the 16v, combined with a K&N insert gives a nice feelable little power boost and a little better gas mileage.

Did it on my wifes 93 16v 4 door years ago and it works well.

As far as larger exhaust, needing back pressure.....

Well I disagree, I run a 1600/8valve sidekick engine, highly modified, in my aircraft...Modified Calmini header...no exhaust, just a dump tube. No adverse affects (other than noise) producing somewhere over 110hp |removethispart|@ 6000rpm.

Combination has over 100hrs on it.
