Water pump leak
« on: May 15, 2005, 05:02:31 PM »
I seem to have a leak(coolant) coming from the bottom of my water pump area. I know that if the seal goes it will leak out of the little hole, but my hole is at the top and no water is visable there. Is there a hole at the bottom as well? I can't see under there, even with a mirror and it is driving me nuts.

Yes there is a hole at the bttom and at the top, replaced mine last week.
All things must start and end, the key is to not let them start and end in the same place.

Yep, chances are about 99.999% certain that you need to replace the water pump.

When you hold the shift key down and type 4X4 it comes out $X$. Could anything be more appropriate?

I don't know anything about the 1.6 liter engines, but if you are running a 1.3 Sami, this might be a good time to consider changing the timing belt as well (depending on the mileage and/or belt condition).

Thanks for the replies guys. BTW its a 16 valve 1.6.
I'm at 200,000 now so the belt is due. I am also going to do the valve seals. It puffs on start up.
