Rear Drive Disconnect
« on: February 11, 2005, 11:56:42 PM »
saw this on Trail Tough's web site, though it was cool.

This compact unit simply replaces the rear drive shaft flange of the Samurai transfer case. It is a great alternative for the Samurai owner who can take advantage of the benefits of all of the various new transfer case gearing options and have the ability to "burn-turn" or do front wheel digs......just like the guys with the Atlas cases! Our rear drive disconnect works not only for the serious wheeler's burn-turning needs, but also works excellent for disconnecting the drive shaft for guys who just want to flat tow.

Item #DIS-400 Price $399.00

pretty sure it's sami only, but could be wrong.  (HEY...I'm only human...lol) ::)
I know someone that has one and it's a really kool unit.  He got his primarly for flat towing his sami, it's SPUA and a really tight fit to get under there and drop the d-shaft.  Now he just pulls a little lever and he's ready to go!
I'd love to have one, but a little out of my price range at the moment :-[

it takes the place of the rear mounting flange so your d-shaft would bolt to it.

sammi and tracker rear flanges aren't the same. i tried to mount an 87 sammi rear shaft to my 94 tracker and it didn't fit.

Nice looking toy.  Now if only it would work behind my E-Brake.  :)
