Tyre sizes for the Vitara
« on: April 19, 2005, 01:26:38 AM »
After I finally get the Calmini 3" lift in my 95 Vitara, I will get some muds.

Calmini says to fit 30" x 9.5 rim offset 3" - 3.5"

Does anyone know if I could fit 31" x 10.5 on it with out doing any panel work and what rim offset it would need?

It has a ARB Bullbar and I don't care if I have to cut the rear bumper.

Also with the 3" lift should I allways run 30" or 31" or can I use the 205/75/15 (current tyres on car) for driving on the street?
Calmini 3" Suspension Lift, Calmini Skid Plates, Calmini Rockhoppers, 30" Mud TYres, ARB Bullbar, Rear ARB Locker, Custom Sill Sliders, Rear Bumper and a lot more.

I have a 95 Geo Tracker and I have the 2 Inch Calmini lift on it. I am running 31x10.50 Mud King XT on 7 inch Rally wheels. Thats right, 31s on a 2 inch lift. The rear tires cleared fine but the front tires didn't. There is a lip on the inside of the front bumper that has to be be ground down smooth. I used just a normal hand grinder. It looks like factory. It also rubbed just a little on the inside of the fender, so I took the plastic fender molding out and cut out the part that was rubbing with just a hand saw. Then I put the plastic molding back in place. You cant tell that I did it. If you have anymore questions I would be happy to help.

I'm running 32"x10.5 mongrels with a 7" rim with a 4" backspace, works fine although I'd like to change my  rims to a 2.75 or 3 backspace just to get a bit more track width in it.

My 32" mongrels measured about  31.5 with a bit of wear on them when I fitted them and cleared with no problem.

If I was going to Simex's or Swamper's I'd probably drop back to a 31" to avoid cutting or bashing, I tried a 32" Swamper on 7" with 2.5" backspace and it fouled the guard a little.

I have a few pixs if you want to see how much they stick out etc... Let me know and I'll post them.
