« on: April 14, 2016, 07:16:50 AM »
Hey guys how are you... new to this forum but hopefully somebody can help... I went to replace the rear anchor mount on my transmission but its about half an inch to 3/4 of an inch too tall.... the new one that is.... Every mount that I've checked is the same way I was wondering if they did make another shorter mount that I'm not aware of??..... 1995 Suzuki Sidekick four door JX with 16 valve engine and 4 speed automatic transmission

What makes it too tall?
Are you talking about the rubber TC mount?  Or, the metal cross member it mounts to.
I have had two different types of cross members, but both worked.  And both have been bent upword, from resting the tires by parking it on large obstacles.

Hey man how are you thanks for the response... The rubber is to tall... my problem it's basically two things I have to jack the transmission up to a point it will not go any further... and my crossmember braces approximately 1 inch away from where they're supposed to be mounted or bolted... I could possibly jack up on the crossmember braces but the transmission is hitting the top of the tunnel....

Are you referring to the round rubber mount, or the V shaped mount?  Photo's?

I ordered a new tranny mount from Rock Auto about 6 months ago when they placed several of their Tracker parts on clearance.

Since I was having tranny work, I decided it would be a good time to install the new mount.  When I unbolted and swapped the mount, I too noticed that the new tranny mount was about 1/2" taller than the old one I removed.  Other than the thickness of the bushing... they were identical in every other respect.  I wrote it off to the fact that the old bushing had simply been compressed from age and high mileage (208K miles).

I should know today if this new mount is an issue on my tranny.

No problem with the slightly taller tranny mount bushing.  It went right in on my Tracker.  No clearance problems on mine.
