Barcus, did you make them or are they some manufacturers? If they are someone's, could you tell me who?

The rig looks great! ;)

Thanks. Jeff

Your possibly talking about me from NZ thou not the UK.

I was going to do a Cad drawing and give it to fellow zukers who wanted to copy my design who could then have it laser cut, then they would just need to fold it up.

Well I've done the drawing, had one cut out myself and just need to get my arse into gear and fold it up and weld it together to check it all fits up OK then I'd be happy to give the file to those that want it.

The other option for people that don't want to get one laser cut is I can save a pic of it with all the dimensions and you could cut it out with a grinder if your keen.

Here's what the pic would look like but I'd put  much more dimensions on it obviously.

Pix of my bumper build up can be found here:

thanks zuksofhazzard, i'm from philippines, we can pretty much fabricate anything here.

wolf66, yup the front bumper is calmini inspired. the cost of freight of the bumper from bakersfield to here is almost twice the cost of the bumper itself so we have no choice here but to fabricate.  ;D

I can do that for you but it will be about 3 weeks away as I want to fold the one up I have had cut out and check it first and I won't get a chance for 3 weeks as I'm too busy this week and then I'm over seas for two weeks after that. Once I'm back I'll fold it up check it and flick ya a copy of if.

If you prefer the tube-bumper look:

The skid plate is bolted to the back edge of the bumper, trusses the front a-arm mounts and then extends back to the crossmember where it's bolted securely. I gotta drop it to change the oil, but the protection it provides is well worth it!

I can't provide plans or anything since I just sorta winged it while making it, but I can provide detailed pics of it if interested...
Had a cool sig pic till I changed the text... sigh...

here is another tube (round) idea.  i think i still have the auto CAD dwg files for front and back if any one want pm me.  though i did change the assembly as i built if for better fit.  if you find someone with a computerized laser cutter the front brackets turn out sweet.  i used sch 40 tube, which i would not recomend, it is HEAVY!

this is not my vitara, but the front and rear tube bars are what i will be getting this week (hopefully)

they are made by OVERKILL ENGINEERING here in australia, they do a lot of custom work on 4wd's and a lot of competition stuff too, esp. buggies.

it looks simple enough, and so anyone who is handy with a pipe/tube bender can make a pretty good bar up. depends on what you like. i think these tube bars are more open, and round too, which means less cleaning of mud and stuff from behind bumpers and so on.
