From what I can tell, it looks like everything is there that is supposed to be.
It's been awhile since I've had one the later hubs off, but I can look at one of mine in the next day or two, to see if it looks the same as in your pic.

Went to the wrecker and picked up the parts I had left behind.. There were two and I'm sure one of them is necessary but the white one with the spring around it won't fit, so that's for auto hubs only. The other piece with teeth fits perfectly and would definitely stop the spindle nut from turning off. I emailed you pics.

Just for reference, 30 dollars is one hell of a deal.  Most places will charge you an hour minimum to do work like that, 100+.  Not always fun to pay, but that's what a shop does for a living.  Getting out of one for less then 60 is a good deal in my opinion.

Having said that, if someone was going to charge $100 that I replaced the entire part for $67, their knowledge would have gone a long way. That's where you turn to the guy an say hey, it's 30 bucks and once it comes off there's potential you're fixing more and still paying. Its my fault for assuming and not asking.. If I asked for an estimate I would have walked if he told me $30.. Felt like a good-guy ten dollar job to me. oh well, I still feel the same way about it, the only way to feel better is to not go there again.

i think your living in days of the past. in days of $4 gas and $3 milk, $10 "good guy" jobs are worth more like 20 bucks. Back in the late 80's, when i was working in a fab shop, local farmers would come around and get those $10 good guy deals, but guess what, minimum wage was also $4.50 then!

Yea, he should have told you he was going to charge you though.  I agree about the replace vs fix, it's kind of like getting your rotors ground down.  Why spend 20 dollars on that when you can get a new rotor for 22 bucks?

It would be better to turn a quality rotor for $20 than replace it with
a piece of Chinese crap, I learned that the hard way, after the good
quality parts had been thrown out.

30$ is a steal these days, if you went to a buddies house/garage then a break or goodwill should prevail, but you take an item to a commercial facility then expect to pay the going rates for labor, 60-120$ an hour
