;) Thanks, I guess I have about $1700 into the turbo build so far. I don't have a parts list yet, I guess I'll sit down and figure that one out. The major parts, Turbo/with new center section, air to liquid intercooler, scavange pump, new injectors, exhaust manifold flange and tubing for the manifold and charge air ran about $1300. The rest went into AN fittings and lines, various hardware, clamps, hoses, gauges and a bunch of other little stuff. Yeah, I did all the work myself with the exception of having the exhaust flange water jet cut. So far it runs great on 87 octaine, timing is stock,5bs boost. I just picked up a boost regulater from a buddy that I'm going to install, and up the pressure to 7/8 lbs a bit at a time. I  finished doing a couple of more mods aimed at cooling the engine compartment. Added hood louvers to allow hot engine compartment to vent, heat shielding around the exhaust manifold and turbo, I also added a small bildge fan that draws cool air in from under the fender well, and directs it thru tubing to cool various areas around the turbo. Been out in the woods a few times now and it seems to be working good so far.

Damn.  I thought I read somewhere, where it could be done for about $500, if you did all the work yourself.  I guess it probably depends a lot on whether you buy the parts new or used and what kind of price you are having to pay for either.  And how many "extras" are added.

You could do it for a lot less, use a stock manifold flange,(cut off the exhaust manifold) used turbo from salvage,(iffy at best) I think the stock injectors may even work at low boost levels. Skip the intercooler and the plumbing is much more simple as well. But you'd be surprised how fast it adds up. Still, all in all, compared to the price of a comparable kit for say, a Honda, the price still doesn't seem that bad. I'm sure now that I've done this one I could do another for a lot less. Still a bunch of work though, but well worth it. I don't ever want to go back to normally asperated now that I've had a boosted engine. The power is just too good.
