Hi all !

An advanced warning that you're going to be hearing a lot of questions from me in the near future.. tonight I pick up my first 'zuki, a 1990 Vitara JLX.   ;D

Although its a bit embarassing, I'm not even sure how to engage 4x4 mode (or even if thats the right term!)  :-[

So yeah, I'll be posting loads of what you'll probably think are dumb questions, but the way I figure it is thats the only way I'll find things out   ::)

Cheers!

Mark

Don't be afraid to ask questions:

1. We all had to start somewhere, and
2. The only dumb question is the one that should have been asked.

Thx!

Well, I picked her up last night and got to take her for more than a 1 mile spin for the first time.

Man, what a fun ride. I've put 94 miles on the clock, and its only a 40 mile ride back to my place  ;D

Despite some well intentioned friends "educated" warnings about how much 'zukis love to spontaneously roll (for no apparent reason   :P ) or spin out in wet weather such as we had last night, I managed to get home without any unintentional skidmarks of any sort.

The steering feels a bit twitchy, but thats only because my previous car was an old clunker with zero steering assistance and a tight rack.

I can't wait for the weekend!  :D

Sorry to dissapoint you, but zukis don't roll
over spontaneously, it takes many years
of training and trust before your zuke will
roll over on command, but once you get the
trust and confidence down, your zuke will not
only roll over but will situp, beg, speak, and
countless other tricks that will amuse you, like
imitating a mountain goat   ;)

This is the place to be.Speaking for myself I useto drive big trucks with 38' to 40' tires and a lovely 6 miles a gallon.Only took them offroad once and noticed I couldn't afford the gas to get somewhere and it wouldn't fit where I wanted to go.Now I go anywhere and get back on the same tank of gas. These little trackers/sidekicks can do more stuff than you would believe.I have 7inches of lift(including a 1'spacer) and never thought I would love this "lil booger" enough to sell my big truck and  make this my daily driver. Keep reading "ZUKIWORLD" and the bug will BITE you to build yours bigger just thick about replacing the front axle soon, the stock one doesn't hold up to well once you lift it and start wheeling hard(stock is fine 4 stock tires) I could go on n on on But just read all the archive articles and Enjoy.
