Choice in YJ spring set for Sammy
« on: August 30, 2007, 04:25:56 PM »
Been doing a lot of reading (searching) regarding lift kits and suspension packages in general.  Settling in on the Trail Tough YJ Wrangler leaf conversion kit as the kit of choice but my question is this...

IF you had your choice (in other words, I MIGHT be looking at buying new) WHICH leaf packs would you want to have?  It seems from what i have read that the 5 leaf is recommended for the rear, and the 4-leaf for the front, unless you're running a big bumper and winch, in which case the 5-leaf is also recommended for the front.

Any opinions?  Anyone like another kit better?

Also have a 16v 1.6 that will get swapped in after (want the original oil pan and need the clearance first) and plan is for some on road use and modest off-road use (I'm new to the game, and don't know how deeply I'm gonna get sucked in yet, but I've really enjoyed this so far!!)

So let me know what you think - anybody do this and wish they had done it differently afterwards?

Thanks!

Jonathan

I got four, six pack yj's from trail tough, if you buy all four at the same time and the yj kit from them they will give you a deal on them(almost the price of used ones), you can always pull leafs off of them if too stiff and also the main leaf looks to be a lot thicker than the five and the four packs that I have laying around, I also have a 16 valve in mine with the t.t. missing links all the way around.
