Anyone have any tips on replacing the front springs on a Calmini kit for kick? I was thinking that I might be able to just unbult the the ball joints from the bottom of the  controll arms.  Then I could just swing it down and drop the spring out.  or am I going to have the do this pain in the |removethispart|@$$ way and unbolt all the other stuff???

I just remove the circlip from the driveshaft, remove the bolts from the lower strut mountings and drop the wishbone down. You might have to remove the sway bar if you still have it fitted. You'll need to make sure you don't overextend the brake lines too.

I looked at doing it the way you suggest but it was  a pain so I did the normal way.

This is the way I've always done it.  Good luck

If you haven;t already, ditch the sway bar.
I disconnect the strut at the top, compress the arm with a jack, pull the 3 bolts from the ball joint, lower the arm, and out comes the spring.

Why unbolt the strut.  If I unbolt the ball joint the only thing atteched to the control arm would be the spring and sway bar. The strut would hold all the other stuff up and some what out of the way.

I personally just unbolt the 3 balljoint bolts.  :-/ It is a pain to reallign but Ive done enough that Im kinda used to it.

I only unbolt the strut to make it easier to get the ball joint out from under the arm. Not a necessity, just makes a little easier IMO.

I will keep that in mind if it give me a hard time this weekend.

I unbolt the bottom of the strut rather than the balljoint as it is one fewer bolt and I find that having the jack under the wishbone gets in the way

This is the easiest way and I've also done this way.

I personally just unbolt the 3 balljoint bolts.  :-/ It is a pain to reallign but Ive done enough that Im kinda used to it.

And for the sway bar. Unbolting it will give you more flex than with it. The sway bar will try and keep the wheels at the same height and not allow one to dip or compress without the other one doing the exact same.
But thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

THere is really no allignning it. Its just getting the 3 bolt holes to line back up. Just make sure the Jack is in a good spot (sometimes you gotta reposition the jack)where it won't slip off and not in the way.
Just remember the Spring is under compression adn it will jump out if givin half a chance.
