T.V. Show Idea
« on: December 04, 2005, 06:00:53 PM »
I would like to see a T.V. show like American Hotrod but with custom 4x4's. They do the build, make it huge and at the end of the show see what it can do, maybe compete with it. Does this show exist yet? Who's gonna be the first to do it? If someone goes forward with this idea (if it doesn't already exist) i'll send you my info so you can send me my royalties, or at least an on camera office job. Would you watch it?
Robert

It would have to be picked up by
a cable/satalite station to work.

I don't think there is enough interest
from the general public to make it a
network show.

The closest thing I can think of is Junkyard Wars
Real Trucks Are Built, Not Bought,
And Chrome Don't Get Ya Home.

An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.

World of Trucks, Trucks, Superlift Off Road Adventures, 4 Wheeler TV,  all carry some of what you are talking about but not quite to the extent you mean!

Maybe suggest it to one of those shows.

One of them even took an old (I mean OLD) army 4X4 big pickup and totally rebuilt it into a monster 4X4 that looked and worked pretty awesome.  The host is Stacy Something or other, kind of a muscular James Belushi looking kind of a guy who laughs alot while narrating the show.

SpikeTV - Extreme 4x4

They re-run them constantly, so you should be able to pick one up next weekend.

Mark Evans ( British veterinarian ) did a build-up of a RangeRover on European Discovery, very nice show, with simple OffRoad lessons inbetween.

Before doing this car he built a Cobra replica ( a car is born ), a Jaguar E-type ( a racecar is born ) and a Helicopter ( a chopper is born ), now he does a VWtrike, a Triumph Bonneville and a Harley WL.
1600 cc 8v, MegaSquirt EFI, Camden SuperCharger, Calmini 3" Shackle Reversal, IronMan 3"suspension lift, SPOA and 2"bodylift, 4.16 T-case, QuickLok rear, 33x12.5 ProComp XT's on 8"rims with 1"wheelspacers.

I've been lucky enough to catch some of these series. They were really interesting and I enjoyed the low keyed nature of the program.
