leaky head help --
« on: May 05, 2005, 03:13:21 PM »
Damn -- just went through the fusible link problem and today I find my number 3 cylinder is sucking my cooling fluid out of the radiator !!
The other day I started to run hot up in the hills and found the radiator down some. Filled it with lake water and didn't think much of it till today when it happened again. I found the number 3 spark plug dripping wet with what smells like antifreeze.
Anyways --- I guess what I'm asking is while I have it ripped down -- the head is already off !!.  Is there anything I should be looking at to replace ?? Maybe upgrade or just check ??  It is a 1.3 that came from Japan I was told -- one of the ones that is imported after they replace them after 30,000 or so. I am mostly looking for MPG  -- maybe a different cam ??
How about a place to get parts --------- My god ------- the place here wants $170 for a gasket set for the upper half of this thing ????!!!!!

I'm thinking one of those crows I shot up in them hills was some Indian spirit !!! -- and now he has it in for me !!!!!!!!!!!

Second that, I would call John at Hawk. He isn't quite a "Medicine Man" But, he will have the "concoction" (i.e. Gasket) you need for your leaky head.
87 Sammi "Sir Tweak " Rockcrawler 4:1, Mighty Kong , 1.6 16V, Centerforce II, 2" Exhaust, Esteem seats. - Long gone
97 Tracker "Jezebel"  Bone Stock DD

'Cause, I am to misbehave.
