WORLD PREMIERE OF SUZUKI COMPACT SUV CONCEPT AT 2005 NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW
BREA, Calif. (March 2, 2005) - Just months after debuting its vision for the midsize SUV category, American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) celebrates the world premiere of an entirely new compact SUV concept - the Suzuki Concept-X2 (pronounced "concept x two") - during its New York International Auto Show press conference on March 24, 2005 at 10:50 a.m., at the Suzuki display, #1215, in the Jacob Javits Convention Center.
Suzuki has leveraged its SUV expertise to create the Concept-X2 for the compact SUV segment. Sporty lines fuse with elements of stability and functionality to achieve a rugged yet refined vehicle that emphasizes owner sophistication while acknowledging the need for drivers to break free and seek out adventure.
"I like to think that our passion and commitment to excellence have produced a compact SUV so exciting and fun that people will want to drive it wherever they go," said Koichi Suzuki, president of ASMC Automotive Operations.
Working with the product concept of "off-road athlete," Suzuki engineers and designers developed the Concept-X2 the same way athletes train for all conditions - refining capabilities and enhancing cross-country performance.
Concept-X2 is the second sport-utility concept from Suzuki this year. In January, the company unveiled the Concept-X midsize SUV at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Intended to put a fresh perspective on the midsize SUV segment, Concept-X fuses cutting-edge features with unprecedented interior, exterior, safety and performance features.
