Sidekick help please
« on: June 08, 2015, 10:13:11 AM »
New to this forum. So not sure if this is where I ask for help lol. But I have a 90 zuk sidekick jx. Love it. I've had 21 jeeps and this zuk has topped them all when it comes to my style of off-roading. I want to put low range off-roads tcase reduction kit in. But their kit is for 91 and up. Emailed them and they said it won't work in mine cause of a smaller molding etc. So my question to the forum is... can I get a newer style tcase that will "bolt in" so I can install the reduction kit?

Krust, I'd ask the people at LROR, they designed the product and also have extensive knowledge on Track/Kicks.  I've purchased from them and they have a good reputation.  Good luck in your endeavor.

I agree with ranger88den, LROR will tell you what years will fit, and can supply you with it.  You can swap TC's between years up to 98, I am not sure on interchanges with the newer models.

i have an "89, and found the same problem- was told the case was "too thin" to cut for the gears.
it's actually "too short", using narrower gears and shorter gear shafts, with a different end casting.
i used one from a '93(i believe '92-'94 works).
i discovered the true difference when i used my original as disassembly practice for an overhaul.
i am now using a "hybrid" case- overhauled my original, clearanced for the gear,+ the '93 shaft and end case.
got my gearset from trailtough.
