Anyone knows were I can get a fuel tank skid plate? The dealer here does not have any, and my fuel tank 2 good hits recently, luckily it did not rupture.

Honestly, remove yours and straighten it.  Then reinforce the supports and add 3/16" plate to it.  The stock plate does little to protect the tank.

The 17 gl tank in my GV now fits 15 gals, and 1 gallon moves the needle from empty to 1/4 tank.  My skid looks alot like cumpled tin foil, and the support tubes have been bent/pushed upward about 3-4" total.

Do you have a body lift? If so have you raised your tank?  With mine raised I havent hit it yet on the trail.

Yeah it takes a little bit of work and a welder. I did mine different than the article. If you want Ill email you some pics to show you how I did mine. Once you get it lifted it is very nice with alot less worries.

Unfortunately i dont run a body lift. Think i'm gonna get a skid made of some heavy guage steel, might not be pretty but at least when i hear the bang i'll have a piece of mind.

Like YankeeTim suggests, just welding a plate under the existing skid plate would probably be enough.
