sidekick 4 door open pickup bed
« on: March 19, 2009, 02:55:08 PM »
Has anyone seen a 4 door sidekick with the area behind the backseat converted into a pickup bed?
I would like to do it to mine but would like to see pictures of someone elses first.

The area behind the back seat is about 18". Your dog isn't going to want to stand on a 18" ledge while you're booking it down the freeway.

Nope that's it.
but......
i have seen a 4 door turned into a pick-up truck they just filled the rear doors and welded sheet metal to make the floor flat, and used parts off the 2 door kick.  Making everything from the back of the front seats to the tailgate a pick-up bed.  It was impressive, and looked pretty much stock.

Not to many freeway around here. And it can hang out the back another foot to the back of the bumper. Losts of room for a dog box. They are usually only 24in deep.

Need to see pics!

It was nearly a decade ago and didn't have a camera on me that day.  but trust me it was well done and looked like something suzuki should have made.  And could have very easily.

I think if you took the back seats out of a 4 door...and covered it in diamond plate like that....you'd have 2945043 square feet of room back there.   Plenty for a dog to run around.   Looks nice, even in that tiny 2 door.

What about chopping the roof off of a 4 door, and making a proper pickup truck?  Anyone ever try that?
