Typicly when someone rebuilds an engine because its warn out , is that usally just what they call the head or top end rebuild? or is it usally the whole thing?

i just dont know much about it...

Just would like to get some info...

Thanks

Rebuilding the engine is refering to both the head and block. Rebuilding the head is just that, only going through the head.

I would have to say going through the whole engine is typical.

If the engine is worn out, you need to go through both the top and bottem end. No sense in going through the head if the rings are shot. It will still smoke and run like crap with a new head.

If you are worried about the condition of the engine and are planning on going through it, do the whole thing the first time. It will be cheaper than doing the head now and then having too do the block six months later.

Ok,

I was just wondering because this sport keeps getting more and more expencive....

I didnt realize how much diffrent it was than the regular kick....

I figured it would be cheap to keep it up, not realizing it wasnt anything like my 93 jx 4 door i had a wile back

ive got a 144,000 on it and it runs good, but i was just wondering about the refurb cost when the engine does go, if i did it myself i would goof it up...so i was hoping the head was the most vital to restore... Oh well, thats what i get for getting the 1.8
