Mating transfercases?/ How ?

I need to know how to?well let me jus explain what  i am thinkin about how about a1.6 EFI with automatic transmission and  butt my samurai t-case up to the stock tracker t-case? what would this do? is it possible? is it hard? ??? oh and its all going in my samurai now who can help who can? shed sum light i need guidance i need to see the light ;D

You'll have to consider length of all this. Have any measurements of the length of the tranny, t-case of the trackick? Then if you are going to have a intermediate driveshaft, how long? If you're intending to keep the stock Sami case in it's stock location? If you had to relocate this back, what about the rear ds length? If changing rear ds length, how about moving rear axle back? Rear axle movement requires suspension mods. Suspension mods have to be considered due to the fact that you have 2 t-case with a passenger side output.
Lots to consider. Crawl underneath the Sami, bring a tape measure and go about it. Do the same with the Trackick tranny/t-case.

Thank You,but what would it do with the stock  t-cases anything would it make a difference or would it be a waste of my time?idont no thats why iam asking do i need to do gearing?or what :-/

I suggest that you contact a Suzuki club or owners near you. Look into Suzuki Samurai specific sites such as Izook site, pirates4x4, among others off the top of my head. There are also several group lists which you can join for better info. Do a search on yahoo groups. I'm also on a suzuki4x4 off the topica.com site. This is mostly central US, but there are many others on it.

For a Sami, swapping in a 1.6l 8v is highly recommended (although the 1.3l could be mod'd with little trouble for better output numbers). The tranny is personal choice. Several have chosen the auto, but most stick with the stock 5-sp. The t-case is another matter. There are several gear ratio combinations to look into. Final choice depends on tire size and axle ratios. Axle ratios very depending on drive conditions (mostly highway, mostly city, all dirt, etc.) and again tire size. Axle ratios stock is 3.73. Most just swap in a Trackick gears.  There are other ratios available also. There has been on some occasion where a Volvo tranny is placed where the intermediate shaft sits. Some have added a Klune-V case, others added the Trail Tough Rock Box, etc. It's all dependant on the amount of money you have available to mod your Suzuki. Take it in steps. Use your vehicle off-road and on. Determine what mod (cheap or not) would benefit the vehicle and make a plan. Gradually step into the modding of the vehicle. Without experience, you'll spend too much money and won't really accomplish your main goal.

There are several vendors: check out Izook for a large list. Each specializes in some kind of mod for the Sami, though almost everyone has the basic thing.

I'd suggest that you join an organized 4wd club. This will help you in a lot of ways to understanding what'll benefit your vehicle for the type of terrain you'll wheel in. Besides having mechanical friends is always a benefit. Most have special tools which you won't have.

Here is a picture of what I was talking about. How involved it is.

The frame looks like a Trackick long wheelbase frame, ie 4-dr.  Those front radius arm frame mounts are from Ford TTB 1/2 ton. You can see the Trackick t-case along with the Sami t-case.

A friend of mine is working on this idea right now and so far to set it up with a much better front drive shaft  he has taken apart the sidekick t-case and has removed everthing for the front out-put and has cut that part of the case off now he is cutting a plate to be welded over the cut off part and than he is putting in to his rig with a sammi case that has a GRS II gear set in it. this is all going into his custom built rock crawler that he is plaining on running at neuroc in 2004.

Take a look at Weasel's page. He's done that already. http://www.cs.umass.edu/~glenn/personal.html Other manu's have come up with just using  simple adaptors, ie. OTT , or actually using a separate box, ie. Spidertrax Thorax, Trailtough Rock Block, among the ones that I know of.

Well he used the sammy tranny and did the dule sammi case's for 2003, but he wants the auto and has a 4x4 side kick auto sitting there so he is going to use it, he is trying to keep this as low cost as possable.
