This project is on hold while I do my carb swap and get ready to change the timing belt but I am still thinking about it.
I actually thought about the wood idea but I don't know. It gets really dry here from November thru I think early February and then most the other time it's disgustingly humid. Wood and humidity, I just don't know.
Maybe the roof. With the arch support and the sides being allowed to just free float, that might work. + you could cram a thick piece of insulation up there for good sound absorption. I think they might have abs that would work too but $$$. I have a huge sheet of it in black but it's smooth and a little scuffed. A black headliner?? I think I found a glue up replacement kit on line for less than $100.00 that might be quick and easy. Not sure how long it would hold.
The doors on the other hand have fasteners that would be stressed trying to hold a panel that expands and contracts. + the wood would scratch where it's at. Looks real good when new though.
I'm pretty set on picking up the abs panels for the doors and back fender wells unless I decide to whack up something I have laying around. Hmmmm..
