Samurai Front Locker Question
« on: June 01, 2008, 11:53:33 AM »
Today I installed a mini-spool in the rearend and I am wondering if the front 3rd member comes apart the same as the rear minus the difference in axles?

Also before I put the mini spool in I did a test fit on the axles and there was a little slop.  I kinda thought it would be a tight fit with no play.  Are my axle shafts worn or is that normal?  I guess the better question would be if anyone had a minispool installed, with one tire on the ground, how much play back and forth do you have with the other wheel thats off the ground?  I didn't think about it until afterwards but I should have tried fitting the original on the shaft and checked for slop as a guide.  This was a trail tough spool if it makes a difference.

yes there should be slop locker, limited, posi, even welded like mine. the axle splines move just the slightest bit in the carrier witch is amplified tremendesly by the time it gets to the end and much larger diamater of the tire
