Ok, I've converted to sammy discs on the back of my Tracker and have a total newbie question. How the heck do these clips fit into the caliper? doesn't even show 'em in the fsm, wtf?!   I did get everything mounted and ran without them last weekend and they seemed to work just fine, even in deep muddy water. My OCD won't let me leave it though, so any help greatly appreciated, PICS with them in a caliper ( decernable pics please  ) would really be the ticket.

Thanks Wild, that makes sense.  I've spent a lot of time trying to fit them and am still stumped as to how they fit in the caliper. Somebody please a photo! 

I should re-phrase that, not on the calipers, but on the holders,
you know where you slip the pads in and then slip the caliper
over them, it's where the steel backing of the pads contacts the
holder that those slip over, before the pads go in

have you givin Google "images" a shot bent? it sometimes takes a while but it has saved me a few times.

No never tried it. I put the brakes back togethger without the clips, but will give the  google image thing a try. Thanks Jluck.

Well, now that Locjaw cleared up the mystery of the clips, I've got another issue. After driving with the new rear discs for a couple of weeks and enjoying the phenominal new braking power, they started making noise. After checking everything out and disassembling them it seems the pad carrier is sometimes rubbing against the disc. This is the fixed part of the caliper that bolts to the Trail Tough adapter bracket.  How it can move as much as 1/8th to 3/16th of an inch seems impossible, unless that 1/4" thick TT bracket is actually flexing. The scraping gets worse when I go around a corner, and if I apply the brakes even slightly the scraping stops. Aside from clearencing the pad holder where the disc runs through it to get rid of the scraping, I'd like to know what would cause this so I can deal with it correctly. Any Ideas?  I've already checked the runout of the discs and adapters and all are within spec, .006 or less. The axle has the normal amount of lateral play just a few thousands, not enough to allow the disc to move in and out the amount it needs to make contact. 

Talked to Brent at TT and according to him the rear axle should have NO in/out movement what so ever. Seems like I need to do wheel bearings. Odd though, only started to do this after the disc conversion.

Are you running Samurai rotors? Would a pair or Sidekick rotors
work instead? In other words are the 2 rotors the same or is the
one a little different to solve your robbing problem? I have to
wonder if .006 is a correctable amount of sideplay and you are
chasing a problem that cannot be fixed
