Just wandering if any body has used the alt kit from Rocky Road. Is the wiring on the new altenator hard to hook up to sammy factory wiring

the good kits come with a wiring pigtail.  just plug and play

The wiring is simple.

If the RRO kit does not have detailed instructions (I don't know why it would not...) on how to wire it, you can search Ack's FAQ (link in my signature) for alternator for links to that info.

Paul, "Adventure-Off-Road" on eBay, has a nice kit for the Delco CS130 alternator. It's a newer style, more compact and fits the Samurai engine compartment better.  But they're still old enough to be easy-to-find.  Current auction number is "330309255816" for the kit, but he sells one with a new alternator as well. Don't forget to upgrade the alternator charging wire to the battery. You can blow the Samurai fusible link with a high-output alternator. One plan is to leave the Samurai fusible link in place and wire around and past it, directly to the battery.  This leaves the link in place for protection of the rest of the vehicle load.

I just put a 130 on mine it fit a 92 chev suburban with a 350. I had to make new brackets and it's a larger cs series but it seems to work good

i got my kit from rocky road and wired it all up but now as soon as i hook up the battery all my dash lights and buzzer go on just like i turned the key to acc. But the key is not even in the ignition. I double checked everything twice. Has anybody had a problem like this.

I agree with ack, just hooked mine up today following the link ack provided, smooth sailing!

I installed the brand new alternator and it squeals. Something internally is squealing and the shaft and pulley get extremely hot after a couple seconds. Anything i can do to fix this or do i need a new alternator

Sound like a bad (front) bearing.  Alternator bearings can fail over time from excessive belt tension, but since yours is brand new it seems more likely the bearing was bad to start with. Perhaps the store could test it for you and maybe duplicate the problem.

What ALT are you using. The SI series have awarning from the factory. That excesive belt tention will cause bearing failure. If its a used ALT. buy a new one. if its a new one, exchange it.
If you bought it from RR as a part of your kit. Well no surprises there. Its RR.

once you find a good alternator see if you can find a pulley from a diesel for it (larger) it will help  keep it from destroying things on the crank and maybe from slipping the harmonic balancer from pulling too much horse power on it, i think it can draw as much as 12 horse power,  could be bad.
