Radiator Flush
« on: May 12, 2008, 09:05:55 AM »
I think my radiator needs to be flushed it looks like there is calcium build up inside are there any stores that sell a cleaner to clean it out? Or should i just take it to a shop and have them do it?

Look for any C.S.K. should carry radiator flush.  I have always used Prestone rad flush, there were some better ones out but they couldn't pass California laws so, no more of them.  Its really easy to do, and a good way to protect your cooling system.

Do you just run it in your cooling system for a while?  Or is it an additive?

You usually run the cleaner through the system, drain it,refill it and run the car to rinse out the cleaner. You then refill with the proper coolant and water mix,and are ready to go.If you can find pro max, that stuff is great but you will go through the rinse process a couple of times.
