What would be good flex?
« on: November 12, 2010, 10:18:12 AM »
Hey, so I am wondering what would be a good amount of flex for my SAS? The leafs are stock yota ones, and shocks are Doestech. I know trailtough's kit gets around 40" but what do you think i would expect from my set up? And if anyone has any easy ideas to flex my rig out let me know. My friend rented out his fork lift, and I cant drive the kicker yet, do to no t-case oil.
Thanks,
Jon

I know on top of the YJ kit, wider axles (toyotas) or others.  And wider rims.  You get more flex out of those.  It really depends on what you want to do and etc.  Yours on yota leafs.... I think if you take off a leaf or so, you ll see huge difference in flexing however its life will be shortened.  (that's just my assumption.) I had Yj on toyota axles and 15x10 rims with 36" iroks  I was able to flex alot more.  Before that, I had sami axles and yj on 31s  so 40" is about right.    Since your set up is around Yota springs, you will be able to swap them out for YJ springs.  They got around the same width.  2.5 inch or so.
