Due to the changes in the temperatures between day and night, the interior has developed a static charge. It's great noticed when you sit inside, then get out. To close the door, you touch and it there it is, surprise, ZAP.

Is there something that someone has done?

About the only thing you can do to combat static build up is to run a pair of static-discharge straps. These are typically mounted on or near the back bumper to a good ground/metal frame or gas tank skid and they drag along the ground allowing a path for the static to get to the ground rather than through you when you touch the car...

Becareful when pumping gas when that happens, it has been well documented that a static discharge can ignite a fire.

As long as you don't get back in after you start pumping gas it's fine. Once you get zapped the first time, the static's been discharged.

when u pump gas ( i worked at a gas station) all u have to worry about is getting in and out...just make sure that if u get back in u touch the door on ur way out so u ground urself..then u will be fine

and no cell phones do NOT blow up pumps!!!!

Haha.. I think most of the vehicles that I have had in the past have static issues. I just learned to touch something metal while I am getting out of the car, and then touch it before I get back in.. so I basically ground myself. Sort of like what Mike said.

You can spray the seats with
Static Guard, it's for your clothes
but seems to get rid of most of
the static shocks, it needs to be
reapplied weekly tho

That or grab somthing metal as
you get out like Heather said, then
you don't get the zap, you just
discharge peacefully

I've had 4x4 rides where my hair is standing on end ... (not static tho )
