Have 96 Tracker 16v 2r stick----What size plug socket to I need and how do I drop the new plug down in the hole and get it threaded properly----Never seen an engine with the plugs recessed way down in like that.

Also what thread do I need to screw in a compression tester-----Thanks

Not sure on the size.. but a standard spark plug socket will remove the plugs.... the plug socket's ruber insert will hold your new plugs in the socket ease the install.

I think it's a 5/8" sparkplug socket, but, it's a standard size, and the better ones have a rubber insert that hold the plugs in place.  I use a 3/8 ratchet, along with a 6" extension, and the sparkplug socket.

Don't drop the plugs down the hole.  The chance of bending the electrode on the end is pretty good....then they won't be gapped right, and may not work at all.
Of the 2 "common" spark plug sockets, it is the smaller one.....sorry, I can't remember the size.  If you can't find one with the rubber insert, just put a small piece of paper between one edge of the socket and spark plug and it should hold the plug in the socket so you can gently put it in the hole and get it threaded in.
And you will also need a 6 inch extension to reach the bottom of the hole.
For the compression tester thread size, just use a spark plug to match up the thread.
