Track/Kick tranny interchange
« on: March 23, 2005, 11:35:59 AM »
Will a tranny from a '95 1.6 8v Tracker/Kick (2 door, 2wd) fit a '92 1.6 16v 4 door 4wd?? I'm sure there will be something to change to make the tcase bolt up. Any help will be appreciated. Almost forgot.........both are 5 speeds.

The 4wd Track/Kick tranny uses a married transfer case design, meaning it actually become part of the tranny and finishes the rear of the case. I'm not sure, but the 2wd tranny probably doesn't have any way to accept the Track/Kick transfer case without some fabrication. You could always use the 2wd tranny and get a transfer case from a sammy, they are separate or "divorced" in design and can be used behind just about any 2wd tranny... You might need new custom length driveshafts for that idea.
Had a cool sig pic till I changed the text... sigh...
