you should buy the better deal and do not worry about it...
seriuously!
I myself have an 3 gear auto and with this I can use the stick ring & pinion and go back to stock gearing with 30''
Most of my friends have manual trans kick's and IMO for mud booging they go about the same but for rocks the auto goes better.
mudding aroung : ) in counryside São Paulo.

For mud, I think the 5 speed would be better.  For everything else, the auto is the way to go, after you swap in the 5.12 manual gears.  I'd recommend the 16 valve over the 8 valve as well.

I agree, I would look for an auto, 16v  model  1995-96

The auto seem to be better for general trail use, due to it's torque multiplication.

Mine pulls pretty good, even in 4 hi

I would take a 95 over a 96, just to get rid of some of the extra issues with the ODBCII computer.

hehe, that's funny, cause I would take the 96 over the 95 for the exact same reasons.. I love OBDII, easy to diagnose.

Yea, but the one click rest of the Check Engine Light beats the EGR valve issues any day.  :)  I still need to track down the logic to find out why a vacumn solenoid is not opening...

Thanks for the info, going to be looking at a 98 auto 4 door over the week end can't wait.  If any one knows how does the auto run with 30x9.5 tires 15x7 rims with 3.5 backspacing.
