??? on coil spacers for kick
« on: January 24, 2005, 05:16:26 AM »
I have installed the 3" body lift on my 95 2dr sidekick. A buddy gave me some aftermarket wheels from his 92 ford 4x4 with really wore down 30"x 9.5" on them. If I remamber right I think the offset was like 2.75 " and I think this is why when I put them on and I have a minor rub in the front when the outer edge of the tire gets to the inner edge of the fender. Keeping in mind these are close to bald tires when I buy new tires the problem is going to worsen. I am dead set against the cheapest solution of bashing the fender until it clears andI would love to just buy the 3" suspension lift from Calmini and put 31" s and call it a day but $$ are tight. I am considering putting the 1" coil spacers to clear new tires just looking for opinions or ideas to remedy my situation.

A 1" coil could give you the clearance you are looking for.  You'll just have to try it.

What you have  to think about is when your off roading.  Unless your going move the lower control arm stopper to stop the control arm on the up travel.  Your wheels going to rub when your out wheeling and have your rig flexed out.

When it came time for triming my front fenders, I just took my time and you can hardly tell.  It's realy the easyest and cheepest way to go.
