Working On the Slip Yoke Eliminator

I was working on a slip yoke eliminator before Calmini
revealed their SAS and SYE setup.

there are two methods to fix this problem.

1. Cut and replace the stock yoke with a flange or yoke with bolt downs,
drill and tap the output shaft to hold the new SYE into the trans with a bolt
through the end of the new yoke. Now replace the driveshaft with a new slip
spline setup.

2. Use the stock yoke, replace the driveshaft with a slip spline that
is spring loaded to hold the yoke in place.


And as far as I know the front driveshaft does not have a slip yoke, if fact
there is no yoke, both sides are flange, which makes sence, the front axle
doesn't move much exept for torque rotation.

IDEA ...!!! will the front TC driveshaft flange fit the 26 spline rear output for an
easy flange conversion? and if so will it seal on the rear seal like the slip
yoke does?? anyone looked at this, some of you guys that have done
the 4:1 TC gears might remember, if you did your own work.

94 purple/green splash tracker w/ calmini 3' heavly modified lift 32 11.5 r15 bfg m/t's  & custom air induction and header w/ 2"exh. no cat lockrite rear 2" B/L and a heavy right foot and now 583s steel up front and locked.
2002 GV 2.5l 4.5 ZN lift locked on 31's

This idea will not work, there is a needle bearing
in the tailshaft section that needs to have the
slip yoke riding on it to support the output shaft.

Not a problem, just a work around

Wild your reading my mind.... SYE is something we have needed for a while.

I like the drill and tap idea. the slip yoke just needs to stay in place. so the bolt would not need to be huge. all the power gets transfered through the splines.

I've got a carbide tipped drill, I hope it will
cut the outter hardened steel of the shaft.

The bolt will be a fine thread, 3/8" grade 8
and will hold the slip yoke in place against
the output shaft, the yoke is getting replaced
with a flange, like a Samauri, and the driveshaft
will be like a Sammy too, I don't have the length
of a Sammy shaft, but a stock one might fit and work

I'm going to have Gary at PetroWorks make them,
part of a verbal deal we struck for the R and D

Darren I was just surfing the old posts and saw that orig. post and thought that I would bump it just for fun ;). Sounds like you did end up talking to Gary, I mentioned it to him but didn't have time to call you back. You should come out to Calico with us on Feb. 10th- 12th. Even if you don't have your kick together I'mm shure you could find a place to sit.

My brother has a 4 door we might have
ready to go too.

I only have one vehicle running, if I leave
mym wife home without any way to go she
might get pissed.  I'll let you know
