What year is it? Every OBD II I've worked on if the light was flashing it indicates a misfire.

Don't know anything about OBD I, sorry. Someone with a Factory Service Manual may be able to help.

The real question is, do ODBI/early trackick engine CEL lights
flash
at all as a warning sign? Might've plugged something in wrong or have a faulty connection due to corrosion or something somewhere. Does it run good?

If it was the switch, it would be on all the time. I'm guessing it's something else - I've never seen the CEL
flash
on any of my OBD I Kicks.

Mine flashed for a few miles (like 10-20) before hitting one of the service intervals (when Suzuki "did not" program the light to come on. At least that is what the Service Department told me
