Spring spacers.
« on: February 10, 2008, 07:09:51 PM »
I have decided to machine my own spring spacers out of nylatron. 1.5" on the front 2" on the rear they will be approx 1 5/8" and 2 1/8" after I reinstall the factory spring cushions.
Is there a reason that I can't post pictures ? I can't even add them to my profile ??Do I need a certain amount of posts or something?

BIG DOG, nylatron is a great choice of materials. It is one of the best things to use if you are maching them rather than casting as I do. Be careful when you cut it, it will want to "string up" and wrap around the part. Nylatron can also be a little tricky to get a smooth surface out of. We have found hogging it down close and making a final .015 or so last cut will give it a mirror like shine. Cut the last pass as fast as possible. Good luck and post pics when done . If you need any dimensions let me know. That is if you are not the one who already got them from me.  ???
