I'd just drop the tranny......easy to do and can be done by hand (remove the intermediate shaft, remove the engine to tranny bolts/nuts, take out the rear tranny mount bolts, unhook the backup lights and 5th gear switch connectors, lay under it, lift it up slide it back and drop it out).
Make sure the clutch kit comes with a replacement throwout bearing and pilot bearing.....if it doesn't, get them.
I'd replace the rear main engine seal while you're in there....easy and cheap to do.
Make sure to have the flywheel turned too.
I'd figure on a half day to full day, as a good estimate.
