Body Lift 2" or 3"
« on: February 10, 2007, 05:56:03 PM »
i just bought a 94 tracker and plan on lifting it 4.5-4.5 inchs but i want to know if a 3" body lift is okay or if its to much body lift. right now im looking at either a roacky road body lift or a master kit body lift but leaning more to the 3" master kit. then finishing up with a 2.5 rocky road suspenison lift with heavy duty coils. i plan on running 31 x 10.5 R15 and no bigger, due to the fact that i dont have power steering. i'd like some ideas on other idea's that might be better or if my plan sounds good.

A 2"inch body lift is a good how to if you can't or don't weld.
The 3"inch bodylift requires some welding to extend the shifters and sometimes the steering shaft.
3"inch Suspinion lift- I do prefer the calmini lift for being 100% complete bolt-on with Minor to no problems. Yes, it is stiff till it breaks in.
The 2"inch lift is a good riding lift.
That is what I know.

I agree with hotrod. I got the 2" body lift from RRO and it was fairly simple to put on. Pretty mcuh self explanitory. The only problem I had with it was getting the front 2 bolts to go back in due to they seemed to be too short. I just got new ones that were 1/2 inch longer.

Another thing,....if you do raise your body and you have the stock air filter box on the engine, you might want to pull the rubber/plastic hose off from the air inlet on the motor to the air filter box. Mine was stiff and dry and cracked where the ribbed area is. I went for a while trying to figure out why the 2" lift made my tracker run a little funny ::)!

I forgot about that but here is my fix

Sorry it's not the best pic but it's what cha get with a camera phone.
these are just spacers as not to stretch the intake.
