motor swap, 90 8-valve with a 94 8-valve.
« on: July 11, 2012, 09:18:09 PM »
Hello, I have a 94 2 door 5-spd 4X4 Canadian model 8-valve Geo Tracker. My motor is shot, I have a very good compression donor 8-valve, only problem is it's from a 1990. My question is, can I use my ditributor, throttle body, intake and valve cover with this block, as in will my intake match up? Anyone done this? Any problems that anyone can see, or already know of? Thanks for any input and thoughts!!!

Thanks Skyhiranger, I've been told this on another site too by someone who did the same thing. He said he used the exhaust manifold as well, he didn't mention if he used the motor mounts as well, they look slightly different.

The blocks and frame mounts should be the same between the 2 years.  It does seem like the shape or design of the motor mounts are a little different, from what I remember.  But as long as you are using all the pieces from either engine, they should work fine on either engine.
