My weapon of choice.....

'91 Geo.  2 door.  5 speed mtx.

PICS!

Current mods:

Calmini stainless header....stock cat....with no muffler.  =)

Ebay cold air intake....sounds cool....but kills my throttle response.  It's garbage.

29" tires on 15" aluminum wheels.

In the very near future:

Coil spacer lift (thanks to jeff1997)

30" ProComp tires on American Racing steelies.

New intake...might go back to stock, or make a snorkel.

If you wheel around water, you should go back to the stock air box ;)

I just spent over a thousand dollars for parts for the Tracker....so it's going to look and ride a lot different soon!  I can't wait!

cool stuff

although that my friend is a regular aftermarket intake

(a cold-air-intake/CAI is longer and lower so it pulls air from a fender or bumper)

good news is that you dont have to worry going over water so much  ;D

Well I wasn't happy with the way the Tracker was performing...so I went back to the stock box.  Runs much smoother now.

My little Sammy is a little more sedate at the moment. It is sitting on a set of 29"  Pirelli Scorpions though.  ;D

it fits perfect. it was a joke at first. i got the filter from a car at work and i was trying to figure out a new way to run my intake pipe with that filter and a buddy was like just put it on top. i was alittle loose so we just put elec grease around it and with the hood on it doesnt fall off.

Hi guys, This is my first post here so I'll do a quick introduction :)

My name is Óttar and I'm from Iceland. I've always been into sport cars (first car a Dodge stealth and the second one a mitsubishi 3000gt VR4.)
But as a financial crisis is settling in over here I decided to get something more practical.

And then out of the Blue my uncle offered me his 97 vitara 2L turbo diesel for free. I couldn't pass that offer so now i'm joining your society.

A little info about the car.
He bought the car new in 97 and has taken good care of it since, always maintained by the dealership and I've got a receit for every little part that's went into this car.
the interior is like new and the body is pretty good for a 11 year old car.
It's lifted a tiny bit and I got it with new rims and tires.

The cam timing is a bit off, sounds like it has jumped one tooth, not enough to damage valves but enough to make it horrendously slow. Fixing that this week.

But now on to the pics.

I'm not really sure yet what my plans are, but I might decide to turn it into a toycar.

If there are any special precautions with this car when doing the timing belt and tensioner I'd love to hear them :)

Thank you.

Welcome to the club.  Nice looking Vitara Sport.  Want to send me your engine?  I'll send back a nice 1.6L that doesn't have timing issues.  :P
