Best tire size for a Sammy ?
« on: January 22, 2009, 08:26:55 AM »
Hi

What is the best size for a stock 1.3 Samurai .
I need a tire that gave me a good service in the street and in the mud.
I am in stock suspension , but I dont mind if I need to lift it a little.

Thanks.

It is tire size questions this week...  :)

Depending on the company, I like 235/75 tires.  You have to trim your bumper and beat in the fender lip for them not to rub but they will usually fit under a stock setup.  And you will loose a little bit of power, but they look cool.  A small shackle lift (1" max longer shackles) or a set of 1.5" springs could be used it they rub a bit to much.

Otherwise go with the 215/70 tire.  Little bit over stock but not enough to cause any problems.

That is my opinion anyway.  I'm a fan of 2" lift springs, 30" tires and a 4.8:1 transfer case myself.
