noobie here - soft top replacement advice please
« on: May 06, 2008, 08:23:26 PM »
hi, i just purchased a mint 1989 Samurai JL with 32K original miles.  The only problem is the top is pretty well dry rotted and the glass has hazed.  Have looked on the internet and the prices are all over the place for replacements.
Anyone have a suggestion?  Live in Florida, looking for white.
Thanks

You get what you pay for, I like best tops but if you get a cheap top you might be sending it back a few times until you get one that fits.

I've bought three (2 Tracker, 1 Samurai) Pavement Ends tops over the years from Morris 4x4 (on Ebay).  All have fit well and were low priced (around $150).

I think the Bestop tops are about $100 more, I've never had one, but I can't see them being that much better than the Pavement Ends top.
